Sanzar successfully completes its incubation at ESA BIC Madrid

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of its incubation programme at ESA BIC Madrid, the European Space Agency’s Business Incubation Centre managed by Fundación madri+d. The Final Review, held in April 2026, formally closes a two-year journey of technological development, business consolidation and institutional collaboration.

Throughout the incubation, Sanzar has advanced its patented Attitude and Orbit Control System (ADCS) from TRL2 to TRL6, completing requirement analysis, design, development and validation phases. Ground validation has been carried out in collaboration with INTA andthe IDR/UPM air-bearing facility, in full compliance with ECSS standards. The achievement of TRL6 at the Final Review represents a decisive milestone in Sanzar’s technological roadmap towards in-orbit demonstration.

Beyond the technical results, the ESA BIC Madrid programme has provided Sanzar with the strategic framework required to consolidate its commercial roadmap. The Company’s first ADCS turnover is forecast for 2026, combining licensing and direct sales in the small-satellite segment, with subsequent international expansion targeted for 2028.

Sanzar wishes to express its sincere gratitude to Carlos Romero, ESA BIC Madrid Manager, for his continued trust, professional guidance and commitment to the Company throughout the incubation period. Likewise, Sanzar extends its appreciation to the entire ESA BIC Madrid and Fundación madri+d teams for the business coaching, technical mentoring and IPR/legal advisory services received during these two years, as well as for the support provided by the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) and the broader madri+d innovation ecosystem.

Being an ESA BIC company is, for Sanzar, both a recognition and a responsibility. The Company looks forward to continuing this institutional collaboration in the coming phases of its development — through ESA tendering opportunities, joint initiatives with fundación madri+d and the wider European space ecosystem — as it advances its ADCS technology from validated prototype to operational in-orbit deployment.

Sanzar reaffirms its commitment to the values, standards and excellence of the ESA BIC community, and looks forward to the next stages of this shared journey.
