Slashing costs by up to $80 per hectare with our software in Paraguayan soybean farming

In Paraguay, agriculture plays a vital role in the economy, and soybean is a crucial part of the country’s agricultural production. Using resources efficiently is essential for long-term sustainability and profitability. This is where our software has proven its worth, helping to optimise fertilizer use in soybean.
Initial data:
- Seed: M-5947 Ipro (sensitive variety)
- Fungicide: TMG 7262 RR (resistant variety) (Y/N) (type): application on 23 December 2020 of MAZEN FORTE fungicide.
- Date: 11 January 2021
- CRIPTON fungicide application (Y/N) (type)
- Cover fertilizer: 4-30-10 ECOP (4% Nitrogen, 30% Potassium, 10% Phosphorus). Quantity: 200 kg/hectare

Results with the Sanzar Fertimeter recommendation:
Our software achieved the following results:
- 25% reduction in fertilizer dose: compared with the usual dose, our software recommended a 25% reduction, equivalent to 150 kg/ha. This optimised resource use and reduced the associated costs.
- Backed by a soil study: to make sure the lower dose would work, the recommendation included a detailed soil study. This ensured that the reduction did not harm crop yield and helped keep the soil healthy.
- Saving 50 kg per hectare: applying the recommendation saved 50 kg of fertilizer per hectare. This lowers input costs for farmers and also helps the environment by avoiding nutrient overload in the soil.
- Saving $80 per hectare: the fertilizer savings meant a direct saving of $80 per hectare, which improves farmers’ profitability and the competitiveness of agriculture in Paraguay.
